Carole Wharton has over 30 years of consulting, teaching and training, and management experience in government, colleges and universities, museums, and membership associations. She has served as Campus Planning officer for Drexel University and the University of Maryland College Park, and as Director of Planning, Management, and Budget for the Smithsonian Institution. She has experience in strategic and operational planning, resource allocation, change management, team and executive coaching, project development and process re-engineering.

As a senior official, Dr. Wharton has been responsible for strategic planning for a major university, capital planning for a major university system, and planning and budgeting for a national museum complex. She has focused on strategic planning, business planning, policy development, working with boards, public officials and legislators, performance measurement, leadership and team development.
