Dr. Vaillancourt currently serves as Vice President, Human Resources at the University of Arizona where she has established a national reputation for her innovative approach to human resources management and planning. Her division has been recognized for its leadership development program, consulting model, and approach to supporting data-informed decision making. In addition to leading the University of Arizona HR program for 14,000+ employees, Dr. Vaillancourt teaches in the University's School of Government and Public Policy and is a co-principal investigator on a $3.3 million National Science Foundation ADVANCE contract. This program, designed to increase the number of women in the fields of science, technology, engineering and math, focuses on organizational culture and “transformational technologies.” Prior to joining the University of Arizona, Dr. Vaillancourt served as a district director for the American Cancer Society, a research program manager for the University of Wisconsin school of Medicine, and held a variety of human resources, policy and communication roles within the University of Colorado system.
