Strategic Initiatives has been working on Continuing Professional Development for over 15 years. We have guided a number of professional societies and trade associations in advancing continuing development in their professions: the College of American Pathologist (CAP), American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA), and the Urban Land Institute (ULI) are several.

We have also worked with The Advanced Management Institute (AMI), recognized as the leading professional development firm in the architecture/engineering/construction (A/C/E) industry. Its learning and consulting services are based on special insights on the nature of personal mastery and the critical success factors for firm management and project management in the A/E/C industry. Strategic Initiatives worked with AMI's community to co-create a vision for the professional development needs of the A/E/C industry in the 21st century and a series of expeditions that AMI could use to migrate its current products, services, and experiences to this new level of attainment. Strategic Initiatives is continuing to work with AMI as a partner in evolving the ongoing professional development experiences that will be essential to A/E/C professionals in the Knowledge Age.

Strategic Inititaives is currently working with several institutions to craft new directions in basic profession education and continuing professional development. We are developing and executing strategies for The University of Dammam to use ICT and eLearning to become “The Professional University” in Saudi Arabia. This will involve communities of practice and new approaches to perpetual skills refreshment. We are also involved with The University of the Pacific in a 12-16 month strategic planning engagement to create appropriate approaches to basic and continuing professional development, combined with liberal arts education, to serve the needs of graduates in the post-recession Knowledge economy.
